What does it mean to transform a place that has been part of a company’s history for more than seventy years into a new space open to the city? It is from this question that the story Domus dedicates to Chiesi Gardens begins.
To find an answer, the editorial team explored the site – still in its early stages – documenting its regeneration journey through an itinerary spanning the past, present and future. From the origins of the first facility, inaugurated in the mid-1950s, to the transformation of an industrial site into a new urban landscape, Domus tells the story of the vision that has guided the masterplan: enhancing what already exists, creating new green spaces and imagining a place capable of connecting people, communities and the environment.
The feature is complemented by a video documenting the visit to the construction site: a walk through buildings, laboratories, warehouses and outdoor areas, together with Michele Nebuloni, Head of Chiesi Gardens, and architects Harold Vermeiren (partner at 51N4E, Brussels) and Nemanja Zimonjić (Director at TEN, Zurich/Belgrade).
